Chapter 7 Success Lawyers Chicago - New Bankruptcy Law New Bankruptcy LawWho’s been pushing this new law? Well, it’s the creditors that have been pushing it because they want to get paid. Whenever somebody files a Chapter 7, and we’ll talk a little bit more about that later. Like a discharge, you don’t have to pay those credit cards and all that debt back. And as a result, who is losing is the credit card companies. But, they are also the same ones that are sending credit cards to people who probably shouldn’t have them. In reality, the credit card industry, their profits have increased every year, while at the same time they’ve been fighting for reform. So aren’t they really trying to have it both ways and profit even more? Well, it seems that they did get it a little bit both ways with the passage of the new law and they were primarily responsible for lobbying to get this law for this time. And it seems that they have achieved that goal.
